The Securities Series 7 Exam is a financial exam that is administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). The series 7 exam is designed to provide the skills and qualifications needed for an individual to handle corporate security trades (not including commodities and futures). The Series 7 exam must be passed in order to take many FINRA exams or to register with FINRA.

Exam Information:

Requirements: One MUST have a sponsorship from a financial company that is already a member of FINRA, or is a Self-Regulatory Organization.

Exam Format: The Securities Series 7 exam is a timed exam consisting of two parts. Students will have 6 hours to complete the series 7 exam – 3 hours for each part of the exam. The series 7 exam has 260 multiple choice questions, including 10 pre-exam questions which do not count toward the final score. Students must achieve a score of 70% or higher in order to pass the series 7 exam.
